Educators: Networking Event - March 4, 2025 6-7:30PM
SciREN was founded by marine science graduate students who wanted to share their research with school children who would be motivated by learning about scientific research in their own community. The network is now in Alabama! The University of Alabama and the Alabama Water Institute (AWI) hosts the SciREN Alabama program, fostering active collaborations between AWI researchers and regional K-12 educators.
K-12 teachers and afterschool facilitators from across the state are invited to come and learn about STEM research in Alabama and the lesson plans researchers have developed. This is a great opportunity to talk to STEM researchers about what works for STEM education in your classroom. You may also form connections to researchers who can be a resource to you (e.g., "zoom a scientist").
